Hello Families!

Please use the resources below during the summer to support your student's learning. Students have access to Clever all summer where they can use MyOn, Epic, ST Math, Lexia, and IXL. You can also visit the Useful Links and Files and Documents for other resources. Have a great summer!

Read Alouds
I recorded some read aloud videos for students to enjoy and watch as they wish! You can find the read alouds under the Useful Links tab, titled "Ms. Dangle's Read Aloud Videos."

Number Talks
Ms. Swadley has made her number talk Nearpods available all summer long! Students may complete the Nearpods again as a refresher and practice for the next school year. You can find the codes on Ms. Swadley's class page. This is a great, independent resource for students!

Summer Reading List
PWC's Summer Reading Committee has created this wonderful resource with book reading recommendations and reading lists sorted by grade level! Check it out!

Writing Prompts
Check out the writing prompts for the month of June! How much can you write this month?

Summer Math Calendars
The Math Department has made  summer math calendars and activities for each grade level. The calendars are to be used as a review of concepts students have learned throughout the year. Students can do one problem a day for the month, in any order they choose, to review their math skills! You can find these calendars under the Summer Learning Resources in Files and Documents.

Talking About Math at Home
If you are wondering how to talk about math at home with your student, or if they are struggling with a concept, view these math discussion questions. You can also find them to the left of the screen under the tab "Talking About Math at Home."

Go to Clever and scan your student's Clever badge. You may use the Clever badge to access MyOn, Lexia, IXL, ST Math, Nearpod, and more! We used these almost everyday in school!

Suggested Weekly Schedules
I will keep the weekly schedules posted during the summer if you would like to reference them or use them with your student. There are activities for Language Arts, Writing, and Math. You can find these at Files and Documents --> Resources for School Closing --> Suggested Weekly Schedules.

Looking for fun, engaging activities for your student? STEAM activities are a great way for your student to think creatively, solve problems, and practice skills across all subjects. STEAM incorporates science, technology, engineering, art, and math into one! Find fun, engaging activities for your student to do at home using a STEAM Activities Choice Board!

Resources That Are Technology Free!
Use this non-technology choice board to find engaging activities for your student that do not require any technology!

Home Learning Resources
Please visit the PWCS Home Learning Page for optional daily schedules, learning links, and more resources.

Looking for some enrichment ideas for your student to do at home? Find some activities to do with Ms. Proch, our Gifted/START Education Teacher! She has a lot of fun, engaging activities for students to do on her class webpage.

Please let me know if you have any questions or concerns during summer break! You can always contact me at or on our ClassTag page.

Hello! My name is Katie Dangle. This is my second year teaching at Kilby Elementary School and my first year teaching a combination class of first and second graders! I have a degree in Elementary Education from The Pennsylvania State University. I love watching my students grow and learn everyday. I teach my students the importance of always trying their best and being a responsible classroom citizen. I love teaching all subjects and watching my students get excited as they learn throughout the day. I want my students to learn that everyday is a day where they have the ability to try their best and be the best they can be. I look forward to an awesome year with my class of first and second graders!
