Dear Kilby Elementary School Families:

Greetings!

Welcome to a new school year! I am so pleased to be your principal and honored to work with such a dedicated staff and parent community. I am excited about the upcoming school year and look forward to facilitating learning for all of the children who attend school at Kilby. Our school has been a busy place over the summer -hosting a three week literacy program for our primary students and a two week program for our rising kindergarten students. Ensuring that all of our students are successful at reading is a priority at Kilby and we look forward to the student/teacher/parent collaboration that will make sure this becomes a reality. In order to start our collaborative journey, we are providing the following opportunities for parents to come to school on the following dates:

We have an Open House planned for Pre-K classes on August 30^th. Our morning students’ families will come from 9:30-11:00 and our afternoon students’ families will come from 12:30-2:00. Our Open House for the rest of the school will be on August 31^st from 9:00-12:00. I hope that all of you can be here to meet your child’s teacher, drop off school supplies, and see how excited the staff is to begin a new school year.

Please come by and introduce yourself if you get a chance at either the Open House or Back to School Nights in September. As we go through this school year together, please feel free to contact me with any concerns or questions you might have.

Back to School Nights:

K-2, September 20^th, 6:00-7:30

3-5, September 27^th, 6:00-7:30

Estimadas Familias de Kilby:
Saludos y Bienvenidos a un nuevo año escolar! Estoy muy contenta de ser su directora y me da mucho honor el trabajar con una comunidad de padres y un personal tan dedicado. Estoy muy entusiasmada con el nuevo año escolar y esperamos poder facilitar el aprendizaje de todos los niños que asisten a nuestra escuela  Kilby. Nuestra escuela ha estado muy ocupada durante el verano, tuvimos un programa de tres semanas dealfabetización para nuestros estudiantes de primaria y un programa de dos semanas para nuestros nuevos estudiantes de kindergarten. En Kilby queremos que todos nuestros estudiantes tengan éxito en la lectura, por eso hacemos la lectura una prioridad. Este nuevo año contamos con la colaboración de los estudiantes, maestros y padres para asegurarnos de que esto se haga realidad. Para comenzar nuestra trayectoria de colaboración, estamos ofreciendo las siguientes fechas para que los padres vengan a la escuela a conocer la directora y los maestros.

Tendremos la “Casa Abierta/Open House” para los estudiantes de Pre-Kínder el 30 de Agosto. Nuestros estudiantes de la mañana vendrán de 9:30-11:00 y nuestros estudiantes de la tarde vendrán de 12:30-2:00.

“Casa Abierta/Open House”para el resto de la escuela será el 31 de Agosto de 9:00-12:00. Espero que todos ustedes puedan venir para conocer al maestro de su hijo/hija. En este día pueden traer los útiles escolares también.

Me encantaría conocerlos, si tienen la oportunidad vengan y preséntense durante la “Casa Abierta/Open House”o durante la “Noche de regreso a la escuela/Back to school” en Septiembre.   Durante el transcurso escolar si tienen alguna pregunta o preocupación por favor siéntase cómodo en ponerse en contacto conmigo.
